I’ve been toying with the Paint on my Scout 800 in Horizons... literally the easiest way I’ve found to get a 360 in all the best colors.  Then I remember the last quote for bodywork and paint IRL and weep quietly into my non-padded dashboard.

+1 for P.G. Wodehouse... I’ve Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books on loop in the shop.

Neutral: We planted our winter vegetables, I fed our blueberry bushes and Citrus in hopes for good fruit this year. We have to put down our 20 year old Forest Cat, who has been happy to not have an actual winter for two years now.

There’s something about the Aesthetics of the animation that’s kept me from watching a single episode.  I still can’t.  I just can’t.

“How exactly did this body kit end up rectally fitted, Sir?”

We had (in order) 83(?) reliant wagon, manual.  86 Caravelle, 88 Shadow, 86 reliant 4dr sedan, and the Coupe de DisGrace... our 84(?) New Yorker complete with talking interface that wouldn’t shut up about the washer fluid, and a hive of mice living in the ductwork.  Hated that damn car.

The 196 (half the IH 392) 4 thumper in my Scout last ran in 1993 before I installed a Hamilton throttle body F.I., and replaced the entire fuel system. It started rather unintentionally after cycling the new fuel pump a few times, and then checking the O.E. starter to see if it worked. Turns out, both were functioning

I’m curious to see how many body shops will have the tech to work on the RoboTruck(69420lOl) and its structural cladding, and how He-Lon will handle repairs and finish issues.  There are a couple blowhards in my distant circle who insist their boss “Already Paid For One”, and theirs will be the “FiRsT iN tHe StAtE”...

IT’S A CLIIIINNNKEEEERRRRR!!!

I agree. The Mandalorian is exactly what GenX has been screeching for since the end of ROTJ... I’m blissfully ignorant of the animated series’, and still lull myself to sleep at night buried in the pages of “Tales From Jabbas Palace” and “Tales From The Cantina”.

“Coulda Used a Doctor...”

Incredibly ill-informed take.  0/10

North Bay area these and Yodas are Everywhere... We’ve even got a green Ranger Stepside (‘08 IIRC) we share with my in-laws.  Handy for dump runs and dirt hauling.

There’s the door...

My dad was a car guy, he pulled a 1950's Morris Minor out of a guy’s backyard in International Falls, MN in the mid 80's, aired up the tires, checked the radiator, gassed it up, degunked the carb and drove it 20 miles home with me it the passenger seat.  Three days later it was as roadworthy as it could get, and he

The number of commercial tractors and trailers I’ve seen with steel-belt slicks is terrifying... I was always impressed with the condition of the snow plows I’d seen up close in the Twin Cities.  Most I’d seen were nowhere near new, and never had as much as a flake of loose rust.

I’m bringing a CA non-op vehicle into operating status this year, after a complete restomod... it’s been in the CA DMV system since it was parked in 93.  I just have to notify CA that I’m bringing it back into use, without any notification or statement on the extensive work that I, a shadetree mechanic, did in my shop

Fairbanks, AK uses plain sand, due to it being too cold for salt to work effectively.  I saw a mint DD Bronco II last time I was up there.  That said, being a transplant from MN to northern CA, I can’t believe how vehicles out here are preserved... there’s incredible old iron to be found in Sonoma County, if it hasn’t

Absolutely this.  It doesn’t matter a whit how well you coat the welded area either, if it stays where salt is used, it’ll rust from the inside at the weld points faster than before it was welded.

I figure I’ve about 5 years left on my original motor in my 68 Scout 800, my wife and I are really excited about the potential here...
