Ugh.... Right?

I’ve got a Slant-4 196 C.I.  Half of a 392... about 117 hp, 170 ft. lbs.

I’m learning all about this as I gut and replace the wiring on my ‘68 scout 800.  There was no fuse block, just inline fuses on Every.  Damn.  Wire.  Fun fact... International Harvester made everything super easy by only using green wires with color coding that promptly faded after 5 years.

Careful... I’ve seen some rustpiles in Northern MN where the license plate is the most load-bearing intact metal on the vehicle.

I drove these as a kid, alone with my dad or uncle in the pickup ahead of me.

I just noticed the front face on that car for the first time... it looks anxious and nervous AF.

The wipers on my 68 IHC Scout 800 were Vacuum-operated. Were. When I got the truck, every cavity in that interior was filled with squirrel shit and nut shells, including all the wiper mechanisms behind the dash.  I hemmed and hawed for about a millisecond when it came time to decide to upgrade them.

I pulled a 50+ year old truck out of a field. $2k in parts would have gotten it back on the road relatively safely and reliably under my own shade-tree mechanics.  I’m bumping that investment up another $3k for removing the inconvenience of drum brakes and a carburetor... I couldn’t imagine trying to get an EV in

You’re fundamentally wrong, but please... in your specific case please leave CA alone.

I'd rather $17k into this. I'm 1/4 there already.

Good to know my Scout 800 already is at the”magical 100" without any augmentation. Hmph.  Now I just need to assemble it.

I have a 3.2 liter 4 cylinder... Does that qualify?

Birds of a feather... I kinda need wheels and tires before testing my new and improved disc brakes.

That’s why I had no problem justifying a restomod on my ‘68 Scout 800 to my wife... Old steel can take a serious beating if it’s still structurally intact.  I seriously lucked out finding one that had been mummified since ‘93.

Not enough respect for TuddRussel

There ain’t fuck-all about that house that’s Persian.  I lived in (what used to be) Persia.  Do you mean “Parisian” wet dream?  ‘Cause that would make sense.

You’d think the writers would be prepared for trekkie-level canon discussions.

How about a 13 liter, 1200 hp V8 wedged into a 2200 lb. carbon fiber and Aluminum Shelby Cobra replica? Yeah. I’d rather this.  The Weineck Cobra.

My parents (Both strict DFL) encouraged my reading this rag.  Still true blue...
