What his ignorance demonstrates is that people can indeed go through life without hearing that particular slur in any sort of context that reveals it as something more than an insult.

Now playing

Your article glosses over McDonald’s demotion. When word of McDonald’s demotion reached Congressman Ed Markey’s desk, the government came down on Thiokol like a goddamn anvil. He introduced a joint resolution to end all government contracts with Thiokol. The firm quickly reversed course on McDonald’s career.

The only clean thing about it. ;-)

Nah you ain’t wrong. He probably got closer to 20 mpg anyway. But the only reasonable explanation for putting this many miles on a diesel HD pickup is if you were towing heavy loads on a daily basis (hot shot). It’s a tool for a specific job.

Welcome to America.

I don’t even think it’s really referring to the USPS, just the idea that a government moving to an electric fleet is a really good thing for a company that makes electric trucks.

I read that as a CEO of an EV company being excited about the government supporting clean energy and EVs. I did not see any indication from that statement that he was “sure” or “confident” that his company would get the USPS contact; in fact Schrader didn’t even bring up the USPS contract, the host did.

He did what a CFO does, and sounded optimistic while committing nothing. If he said “we’re almost certainly going to win some of all of the NGDV contract”, then I’d see the cause for suit.

BREAKING: The CEO of a large company is vaguely optimistic about the chances of receiving a contract from the federal government.

Try something not made in America. 100k miles is nothing.

Doesn’t even have to be non-American these days. We traded in my wife’s 2005 Saturn Vue with >200K miles. It was still going strong and had no issues at that time. Plenty of full-sized American pickups with well over 200K miles still on the road.

Nah. The Japanese bubble cars would have been legendary with or without the movie. It’s been 20 years since the AP1 S2k, and how many cars have revved to 9,000 since from the factory? Other than perhaps a few hypercars, none.

There were a couple different versions of the 2.2 Turbo in the 80s; the Turbo I, which was not intercooled, and the Turbo II, which was.

Didn’t dodge offer an optional turbo engine in the 80's as well?

Ah I stand corrected. It sure looks like it’s based on a K-car though.

I never understood the WRX ditching the hatch. STI not coming in a hatch, ok fine never meant to be a practical car. I had a 2012 so the last body style that had a wagon and the old 2.5 engine. Absolutely loved that car. Just like you have not gone back to Subaru unless you count a salvaged Baja turbo that lives as a

In hindsight the S2000 is definitely the more  valuable car, but those were both very good options, so......eh

My very first car was a 1992 Hyundai Excel. For the uninitiated, do you know all the things Hyundai does right these days? Okay, well, back then, they were doing none of that.

Definitely a hotshot / wildcat driver. Delivers whatever, wherever, as soon as feasible. Doesn’t do much braking.
