This reminds me of another case of lawsuits that happened with Mach Go Go ( Speed Racer ) from Tatsunoko, they sold part of the rights for international release and then Speed Racer Ing claimed it was theirs until proven wrong not long time ago

I imagine this is why whe don’t get many Tatsunoko anime productions
