As a very frequent TCM watcher, I never really considered the possibility that the day would come and he wouldn't be there even as he ceded more and more of the work to Mankiewicz, he was still the face of the network for me and always will be. RIP

Heck even existing procedurals like NCIS have been introducing running stories and building on serialization. Though as shows like Castle and NCIS prove, this isn't always a good thing to move toward.
Yes. I think we've all learned recently that any progress can be quickly undone and Hollywood is no exception. They tend to default back to white and male whenever possible and it takes people speaking out and paying to see movies/watching shows that break the mold. It's a new trend we should be encouraging HBO to…
It's kind of a dual thing (especially since X-Files helped begat Buffy) but considering the Buffy writers on many of them, how many of them are about teens, the complicated romances, how prevalent the style of dialogue seems to have influenced speech in them, the season long Big Bads, and the Scooby Gang set up in…
You kindof have to watch the whole thing. There's a lot of really weak stuff in there (particularly some early Buffy Monster of the Week stuff, Buffy Season 6, and Angel Season 4) but it's all great and worth watching. Plus it is one of the shows that helped popularize serialization so while you can probably skip…
Add to that NuWho, Grimm (from one of people behind Angel), all the other supernatural dramas that are all over TV now, and all the shows that his writers went onto to do.

That kid wasn't making a bunch of quips and leaving his "webbing" all over town.
I think even Mr. T would struggle to pity them.
Well aside from Arrow that is even if the show seems to have mostly forgotten (not a bad thing).
I imagine so many of these retirements that don't take stem from how stressful making a film is combined with the time off making you inevitably forget this fact and start to miss doing what you've devoted your life to.
Ellen Page will come back to the franchise as Wolverine. She's small and Canadian, what more do you want?
How long until the inevitable crossover episode?
With A Cure for Wellness bombing this weekend and apparently being rather strange, I want to reiterate my pick for Gore Verbinski. If anyone can kill this attempt at a franchise off decisively and entertainingly it's him.
I heard it was a false alarm and just a few frames cut from a trailer.
I've got the complete version sitting here right next to my copies of The Mountain Eagle and "The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve".
Like incontinence and racism.
I'll just say here that I'm not sure why Lost in Translation and not The Virgin Suicides is considered her definitive movie since I much prefer the latter.
There's many things about DePalma I don't like (his films define hit or miss for me even in his so called prime) but his use of split screen always struck me as one of the most defining reasons I don't care for his particular brand of style over substance.
