To make it work you would need all interoperable data for each item in compatible games would need to be stored in exactly the same format. For anything non-cosmetic, you’d need to have the damage each weapon does, defense for each armor item, and the way every character takes damage be stored and calculated the same…

Well, you wouldn’t want just ANYONE to be able to give Master Chief a Master Sword. You need the NFT system to track ownership or else something something. I own it, what else do you need to know?  Now make that sword shoot, Microsoft, or else my investment will crater.
