If civilization is collapsing, the only logical choice would be an EV. You could use solar panels to recharge. Oil and gas would be in short supply very quickly. 

Not shocking. A lot things are like that. Ever price out an a/c contactor ? They sell for around $25 on eBay. Your price installed by an HVAC tech, about $300. Similar story on replacement units, just at a 2:1 ratio.

No, it won't look better. That being said, the limit is usually 18 or 19 depending on the car. 20s look ok in a few cases.

Actually, the Mustang was one of the worst examples. That being said, for the time, GM had some good vehicles. The full size Cadillac Fleetwood DeVille, Pontiac Bonneville and Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Trans Am.
