Her before and after is to me quite similar to Frances Bean Cobain. “Before” both had a slightly prominent (for the rest of the face) chin and thin lips as well as brows that were lower.“

I hear you and want to make it clear I stand firmly with BLM. I can certainly, as you say, “understand their passion”. I even think disruption of some kinds of events can be effective for some purposes. That said, I’m not convinced that *this kind* of disruption is ultimately going to be what moves “black lives issues

To say Bernie Sanders hasn’t acknowledged white supremacy is straight up ignorance. How many Sanders interviews, town halls, public forum situations have these people even seen? I don’t mean this election cycle. He’s been on the scene for twice as long as some of these people have been alive. My guess is they haven’t

It’s crazy rudeness. Real unfortunate. I can’t help wondering if these women know much, if anything, about Bernie Sanders background which includes 50 years of actively working specifically for civil rights involving black Americans. He’s no newcomer to some cause du jour. He’s also far and AWAY not a stereotypical

Yes and I think of that every time there’s another round of Bill Murray fawning, whether in an article or in comments. Not long ago when there were repeated “awesome Bill Murray photobombs (wedding, graduation, visit to Disneyland, marriage proposal, the opening of an envelope)“ stories, for instance. It’s always

Not a waist trainer, but just yesterday I received in email a promo for a “Men’s body slimming T-shirt” (see picture, that’s the actual email). It was sent via one of those “deal of the day” sites. I subscribe to several such sites and routinely there are promos for designer brands and all kinds of legit things,

“It’s early morning and you’ve already hit the snooze button twice on your phone. Finally, you not-so-gracefully wipe the crust from your dry lips, pick it up, and look at it.”

FWIW “Confirmed bachelor” used to be code in some circles for “closeted gay.”

Even if I’d had the opportunity (I didn’t have an opportunity to work for my own money until I was nearly out of high school) I can’t imagine I’d work for a year to go to *summer camp*, especially since I’d never heard of summer camp for most of the time I was in school (yes, really, summer-camp-veteran skeptics!),

I’m not sure that would be “worse” than the reality I experienced or that many of my school peers experienced, but I take your point!

I believe you! It just happens, though, that nobody I knew the whole time I was in school went to summer camp, subsidized or otherwise. There are many more such resources these days than there were even in the late-80s, early 90s.

Handmaid’s Tale. For starters.

What’s summer camp? Check your privilege!

Some people may also be interested to know that she had a rather serious, kind of scandalous thing with Idris Alba and wrote a song about it/him. I’ve seen her asked in interviews whether it’s true the song is about him and her responses are never irritatingly coy, rather forthright and understated.

Wait wait wait. If somebody’s “aborting gay babies” that must mean being gay isn’t a choice. I mean if you’re already gay as a fetus (oh sorry, as a “baby”) without any developed brain with which to choose, seems like an open and shut case to me. Thanks, guy, for finally settling that age-old dispute! Now if you could

Oh sure, until you need discarded fetal tissue for research that could save your seriously ill loved one! Seems like a fair trade to me. You want your loved one to stick around presumably, since ‘loved’, whereas I have no use for a parasitic fetus. Win-win! ; )

Mentioned this in my comment before I saw yours. Heard the piece, wished it had included a scathing indictment of Ira Glass. For his voice and very annoying cadence, sure, but also everything else about him.

Ira Glass sounds horrible in his own special snowflake way. When people fawn over him I am beyond baffled, because his voice is one of many reasons he’s barely tolerable to me. If the concept of This American Life were not so awesome I’d have given it up years ago.

This may be my favorite of any comment I’ve ever seen online. Thank you, fellow reader!

H&M is kind of evil. “Fast fashion” in general. Yeah, I got no problem with being that person. For substantiation, I refer you to the documentary “The True Cost” which is currently streaming on Netflix and probably elsewhere. Personally, I <3 the part where Mrs. Colin Firth, who co-produced the film, is on a panel
