The whole thing is so mind-boggling and unsettling I don't even quite know how to respond to this fairly innocuous comment.
I am guiltily amused at the Casper joke though.
Thanks for the info from across the pond, everyone.

Does he know that one of The Joker's only teamups with Batman happened because of The Joker's hatred for the Nazis amassing in Gotham? Does he know that Mark Hammill utterly despises Trump, and that Heath Ledger's second-most acclaimed role was as a gay man struggling with his internalized homophobia in the 60s?

It occurs to me that they're banking on the idea that the jury will think he's guilty but won't send an old blind man to prison. This is a criminal case, after all. They might have decided that anything less than prison is a win and now they're angling for house arrest or something.

Curious - are there any Savile denialists in the UK? There's still quite a few Cosby denialists here. How long did it take for everyone (or just about everyone, if there are still denialists) to acknowledge that, oh shit, this really happened?

I think those air fryer things are healthier, to keep with the article. But who wants air fries?

I'll do you one better: the leading cause of blindness in children worldwide is nutritional deficiency. A charitable project between the Gates Foundation and Stanford is currently developing golden rice. The countries with the highest rates of deficiency have a hard time growing fruits and vegetables, but they can

The Arctic apple is also recently approved and is essentially the same (minus the possible carcinogens); the goal with these is to cut down on food waste. He lost his mind and is more deserving of a Colombian necktie these days (with respect to Colombians). But when he was good, he was pretty damn good.

Kinja is basically impossible to navigate and use.

I asked my dad why we couldn't say it when I was around 7. We lived in a super diverse neighborhood, and all the black kids said it. I knew it was mean, but I wasn't sure why, so I just asked. He took a few minutes, and explained that there is a social contract. When black people say it to each other, they know it's

I thought she was embarrassing at the One Love Manchester concert. Obviously the songs weren't really the point, but she didn't even know the words. She's got a really different, raw singing style compared to Ariana Grande (and I'd generally prefer Cyrus') but she didn't even try to harmonize with Grande, while Grande

Does W Kamau Bell's show get any advertising or promotion? I think it's great.
