I completely understand that. White supremacy has infected every culture it has touched. Iran extremely so. I just hope we can wake up to it and stand against it before its too late.

Pretty sure border patrol has extralegal powers within certain distance of border. They are the front line of Trump’s gestapo. This is why the future detainment centers for muslims will all be within that distance of the border.

I spoke to so many Iranians (I am one) about how terrified I was of Trump winning and they all pretty much went “meh” and talked about how Trump only wants to get rid of “those other” immigrants.

On white people not considering their movies “white” movies; friends of mine are constantly suggesting shows or movies and get this blank look on their face when I say I’m done watching and reading white media.

Three of the people blocked from traveling to the US were my sister, who is an Iranian who became a naturalized German citizen after coming into the country as a refugee in 1993, and her two German born kids age ten and twelve at the time.

Just because he said horrible things in the 80s doesn’t make it less horrible. He was punching down and he knew it. His targets were the most stigmatized people in the country who were going through the god damn AIDS epidemic. He hurt a lot of people.

That caption didn’t say he asked her to cut his hair. She said he let her. The next line is even worse. She clearly thinks that dreads represent the automatically assumed criminal black man and a desire for that lifestyle.

They do care though. They are homophobes who’ve been using their platform to spread hate. That kind of bigotry effects queer people from a very young age. It leads to all sorts of mental health issues and, too often, suicide.

That was painful to watch. Poor kid. I can feel his heart racing. Body flushed with heat. Trying to keep himself from shaking as he remembers all the times his identity has been attacked. Looking around and finding no one’s got his back.
