I tried IZArc for a while but it froze up on me many times while uncompressing some files.

Also, a free solution (which does require for them to either install a client or to run a program) is TeamViewer. I use it all the time

I tend to know where everything is, and try not to open accounts just for the heck of it, but this seems like an interesting alternative.
