This seems like one of those ideas that someone pitched to the Mayor as a splashy policy that would generate a lot of “tough love” good publicity, but lord will it have massive amounts of unforeseen (or completely foreseeable from some peoples’ points of view) consequences. For instance; disabled children won’t get a

so to increase the graduation rate, they’ve decided to essentially make it harder to graduate

Well, that’s just stupid.

Yep, I’m currently miscarrying (as in, still bleeding from my chemically-induced miscarriage. It’s been a fun week at work) because at 6 weeks there was no heartbeat and the fetus stopped growing. We’re disappointed, but we know that healthy pregnancies don’t miscarry. I had very high hormone levels, which is

Yeah. Had a bunch of miscarriages, did this a bunch of times, and in case it’s not perfectly obvious to everyone, it was certainly shoved into my face over and over: a fertilized egg is not a baby; an embryo is not a baby; a fetus with a heartbeat is not a baby. If you are very unlucky, as my cousin was, even a

I always ask conservatives whether there should be pre-natal child support if a fetus is a “full human being.” To date, I have not received an answer.

There’s 1000 things wrong with this, not the least of which is:

I made a burner for this. No one knows this story except me, my husband and our healthcare providers. I had an abortion of a baby I wanted more than anything, ever. I loved her so much.

First, let me apologize for my backward ass state. I fucking hate living here sometimes.

Waiting for the increase in funding for disabled babies and their mothers. Waiting... waiting...

A union is why I now get a scheduled, paid lunch, where I am guaranteed to not have to be anywhere for 30 minutes, from my previous job of shoving food in my mouth while standing in a maintenance closet when there weren’t any visitors around.

“9 to 5" is a song, not a job.

Or in order to pay the babysitter less. Every minute away from little kids must be paid for.

Same. I would rather be at work for 8 hours than 8.5... I prefer spend the half hour at home instead of hiding in my car with a book (I refuse to sit in our breakroom so people can come ask work things while I’m not getting paid)

Thanks for the comment! I’m in the same boat. I skip lunch so I can leave at 5:15 and see my baby before bed time. It’s worth it to me.

My job is commissioned based so the faster and harder I work the more money I make and the quicker I'm outta that hell hole, so I usually skip lunch unless I know I'm going to be bunkered in at work.

When I was hourly, I used to hate the lunch system since it was (state law) mandatory to take a half hour min for lunch. Absolutely hated it since that also meant if I wanted to get paid for a full day I would need to work later and my reward is sitting in more traffic.

I’m in the same boat, I’d rather graze for a bit during the day and leave an hour earlier to be with my family in the evening.

Came to comments to say this. Third type: those of us who work straight through so we can get home at a reasonable hour and see the kids before bedtime.
