But publishers love DRM. The studios don't want their games being traded on the used market. If anything, this will make them gravitate even further away from Nintendo and toward Sony and MS. Gamers will have little choice but to follow the studios if they want to actually play games.

So if I just bought a deluxe version this week at $349 and they drop the price next week, is there any chance I'll be able to get Nintendo to cough some money up?

I just finished reading this today. It was, as they say, unputdownable. I had a few small quibbles with it though:

You could, but...?

Madness? What's "mad" is you implying that I said any such thing. Men aren't immune to sexual assault, nor did I imply that they were. Try reading again. I implied that there's a global epidemic of sexual assault against women and has been for ages. That's why imagery placing women in compromising sexual positions is

Did you mean to write that in response to my post? *confused*

Erotic imagery doesn't = sexism. Context matters and your simplistic idea of what sexism is prevents me from taking you seriously.

No, try again.

It's not weird, it makes perfect sense. Girls and women face epidemic levels of violence and sexual assault around the world. I can understand why images of women in compromising sexual positions might make someone uncomfortable while this wouldn't.

Sounds like you may lack critical thinking skills. Here, let me help.

I hope the unveiling is yet another schmaltzy, painful-to-watch event like the GS4 announcement. I enjoy cringing. I'm a cringing enthusiast.

Keyword: always-on.

There's a strong connection between language, culture, and the lived experiences of people. We express ourselves through language but we also perceive the world through the categories it makes available to us. We shape language but it also shapes us. And yes, it's relevant to "real people."

You're joking right? This has to be a joke.

How is my use of 'homophobe' akin to others' use of the word 'gay'? Is 'homophobe' a term used to indicate an oppressed minority? And am I using it as a synonym for "stupid"? Do you know what a "false equivalency" is? As I said above, it doesn't bother me that language evolves over time, or that the meaning of words

No, homophobia is "defined" as fear, discrimination, or hatred for homosexuals. You know that the roots used in words don't always have to carry their original Greek/Latin meaning right? "Gay" is a perfect example. It used to mean happy. Now, as we all know, it means homosexual (or, apparently, "stupid"). So what's

Okay, I don't remember it being used in the 90s as a general insult, but whatever, that doesn't really change my point. Everyone knows what it's referring to. No one would be confused or shocked to learn that "gay" as an insult derives from homosexuals. It hasn't evolved or become dissociated from its homophobic roots

Hmm, I'm trying to wrap my mind around your moronic comment.

Born that way = happens in the womb.

Well there's a long history of oppressed minority groups "reclaiming" racial/ethnic/homophobic slurs and using them in a positive way. That doesn't change the fact that "gay" is being used here as an insult, not as some sort of positive "reclaiming" of the word.
