@EuropaBambaataa: If we're playing one-up I jumped a 1976 E250. The backs of both rear seats broke.

Unfortunately, boring sells.

"Lesser Dukes"- for some reason I have a mental picture of this jumping over the Thames with Bobby Hogg in hot pursuit. The horn blaring "God Save the Queen" as the Union Jack glints in the sun...

70 mercedes 220d = Kommandant

I drive a 1970 diesel. In addition I'm a pilot, burning thousands of gallons of Jet-A a day. Just be me.

Now all we need is for someone to make a clone of the Chinese cars so someone can actually drive it.

Hmm. Call them all GM, make only two engine families. 1) Diesel v8, 2)LSx. The diesel goes in the HD trucks, the LSx in everything else. No more light trucks, just El Caminos. Everything else RWD or AWD.

@DonLuc: You may, however, be disappointed with both the quality of person trading you that money, and the amount of said money.

If your Hyundai just simply leaves you feeling unsatisfied, we'll take you for a ride in a Carterham Seven. That way every morning when you wake up, you'll realize what life could have been and die a bit on the inside.

I could see it, except for the fact that it will most likely cost more than a 2500 diesel which will get better mileage, tow more, and generally be more badass.

@Ash78: It's been happening since there's been cars. If you look at any car I'd say you can almost certainly place it to a decade. Maybe it's technological advance (or safety standards), or copying best selling models, but there has to be something in taste that makes a certain design desirable enough to the masses

Looking at another AMG last week I saw a strong correlation to an M3. If you cover the grill on this, it looks like an Audi. I really wonder why it is almost every car looks like all the others. Why does everyone's taste change at once?

He may have a loophole, as plane-folk are heard to remark, "Helicopters don't fly, they're just so ugly the Earth repels them." Reading the fine print FTW

@damnelantra™: or "wife choosing clothing for a night on the town"

Ok, banning black cars, banning cars that might be registered for the street, banning communications in car, banning poor gas mileage, banning pollution, banning old cars…..

Sweet, English reliability with chinese production quality.

PIGS IN SPACEEEE!
