This is as good a place as any to recommend Passion Of The Nerd's extraordinary series of excellently-produced episode reviews for both Buffy and Angel on Youtube. Seriously, these are fantastic…
Start with his overview — https://www.youtube.com/wat…
and don't miss the powerful conclusion to his review of Lie To Me — ht

Halloween is a good choice too; I love the wordless vamp-with-camcorder teaser, Willow's casting off some of her shyness (and Giles' utter shock and befuddlement when she comes through the wall), Xander being useful, and the cutest scene of all time when Buffy and Willow peer wide-eyed through the library doors en

The wackier stuff definitely got its share of eye-rolls from the cast, who later gossiped about the show's costume designer and her infamous quirks. But I maintain that Buffy in S1&2 and Willow in S2&3 at least (and Cordelia anytime, anywhere) looked mostly fantastic.

Ah, then perhaps you, like me, felt your stomach fall right along with Xander in "Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered," when he realized that Buffy's come-ons were just a love spell gone wrong. I don't know if I would have had his strength to resist her nearly-naked seduction after that.

I'll take your word for it that Ken Berry was an actor on Mama's Family, because I know I've seen bits of the show but don't recognize his name. So, touché, Mr. Berry!

unflattering ’90s ensembles

A lot of people will diss Season 1, as they've done throughout my 20 years of loving this show (particularly the high school years, S1-2-3 which represent Whedon's original vision before it transformed - of necessity - into something rather different). Always, that criticism seems to focus on plots, including some

Restless, The Body and OMWF are all unique, experimental, and rather amazing achievements for Joss Whedon, all very impressive episodes of a great series, and all terrible suggestions for showing to new viewers. My pick for the uninitiated (if they aren't yet committing to start at the beginning) is Lie To Me — it's

"Acathla"…

After all that trouble with her lines, when Spencer donned those novelty glasses I thought "Oh god, now she won't be able to see the cue cards at all." She was so great in the filmed scenes, though, as expected. (So was Kenan, who might be even better when he gets to act with more subtlety, than he is in live

Of all the sites SNL writers could have used for that quote, if they picked AVC because of trendiness, then that's the funniest joke SNL has made in months.

You forgot one more thing: The rare article making no mention of (nor allusion to) Trump whatsoever, yet some dumb-ass commenter with no self-control blathers on about him anyway, and gets upvoted to the top, rendering even such benign pages a cringe-inducing experience.

Bush looks so happy in that photo because he believes it's the real Easter bunny.

It's almost as if they make the great unknowable mysteries of the universe all about themselves.

Clothes schmothes… Tell me that cast wasn't smoking hot:

(Not pictured: one librarian who would make it simply too hot for public consumption.)

I think if Buffy had been made earlier in the 90s, the rock bands at the Bronze might have been much worse. Plus I think some of the artists like Cibo Matto and K's Choice were well suited to the show's mood.

Oof, late '80s clothes were so terrible, but I confess I miss the crazy big hair. At least it was fun and more varied than the straight styles. The 70s/80s girl rock stars, now that's where it's at.

I thought that in the first two seasons especially, the whole cast looked really great, clothes and all. And season 3 had Cordelia in her fierce post-breakup look, and Faith in anything, so, yeah that was pretty nice.

Giles' life got really boring after the high school years as well…

Hear, hear.
