Well, I guess I was focusing on the critical side. But in terms of sheer popularity, Cosby Show hasn't seemed to air in repeats this decade even as often as Full House, which was quite popular (despite being mind-numbingly awful treacle), yet nowhere near the phenomenon of Cosby in its time. Syndication is only one

You are not the first person who has offered to be a copy editor for this site. Many similar comments over the years have been made. The terribly error-ridden nature of AV Club articles is almost legendary.

What exactly is the legacy of the Cosby Show, anyway? Yes it was important for portraying a successful black family, with professional parents as strong role models. But as far as the comedy, do people still watch it today?

Yup, I remember one which was called "The Benny Hill-ifier" just as you say, about 10 years ago.

I find that Kathy Bates in that photo above is looking a lot like every spinster English teacher I ever had. (I might say she looks like she's auditioning to be a librarian, but… uh… I don't wish to advance that stereotype.)

I don't know wtf the reason is for that stupid "American _____" trend; was it some kind of market research? Do people really have a greater desire to see shows/films with American in the title? To me, those titles (especially if two words only) are mostly reminiscent of the idiotic "reality" series that play all day

Watching through the Sopranos again, courtesy of Vidzi via Primewire. Fast streaming, no waiting, and no popup bullshit thanks to Adblock. We live in fabulous times. I also own my favorite shows on DVD, so I'm not a total degenerate cheapskate.

"Faith has rather a lot of… zest."

YES, thank you — the *formula* of late-night talk shows is the problem. Colbert will still be funny, but he will likely never be *as* funny (or worth watching) as on the unique Colbert Report. Conan deserved way more than 6 months on the Tonight Show to build its ratings back up, but even if he succeeded and kept it

Also some things that used to be on YouTube, but got removed after copyright complaints and haven't resurfaced.

I only ask that they include old EastEnders from the '90s (I loved it back then), and they can have my money. Also 'Allo 'Allo.

Forgotten? Never! The late 90's was peak-JLH *and* peak-SMG. What more can one ask?

Right. She's married to Joel, while Ethan looks like D.B. Weiss, and David Benioff is the one with the stupendous hair that rivals Jon Snow.

She was better, and her story was better. I don't know if the books or the show will ever top that Daenerys/Drogo story, as far as the Essos part of the epic is concerned.

Kartheiser has never even been nominated, which I think is a terrible oversight. He and Slattery deserved at least one win each over the course of the series (and so did Aaron Paul of course). I'm happy that Jon Hamm finally got his.

Torn and Tambor were both so damn great on Larry Sanders. With HBO series being such outliers for awards in the pre-Sopranos era, I'm content that they had 10 well-deserved nominations between them (and 5 for Shandling too).

It's a real station in Florida! Not for music though. Also, come on now! I was just ribbing some fellow NY-metro folks, especially on Long Island, for their Billy Joel worship.

Ah, the late-70s/early-80s Adult Contemporary… The era of Barbara Streisand and Lionel Richie, and everything Soft, Smooth, Lite & Easy. The unwitting soundtrack to my youth.

His early song She's Got A Way has always seemed like a perfect little love song to me, simple and lovely. And speaking of simplicity, I can't help but admire how Joel managed to write such a straightforward, C-major, foursquare piece as Piano Man — so inert that the verse and chorus share the same harmonic sequence

WJEW?
