I do some theater in Orange County and don't know Elizabeth, per se, but know cavalcades of her classmates and friends, and it was definitely huge for the kids out here.

Here's hoping for Yankovic's ripe parody "Aborted Tapers."

Lynch is really stalwart here; I'd agree with Todd that he's "not much of an actor," but I don't get the impression that that's what Louis CK is going for.   He seems like the perfect person to deliver CK's oft-hilarious dialogue.

I'll actually defend Cars as a superior film — cohesion wise — to Wall-E.  Cars is simplistic, sure, but it maintains a charm for an Americana which has past, and tries to reconcile it with the modern age, and never short changes the characters, which is more than can be said about it's abysmal sequel.  And hell, it's

At the same time, On the Road is repeatedly touted as a book of liberation by college-aged brats, when in fact it's a total tragedy.  They look for "God" and "America" vague bullshits if there ever were, and find nothing.  Dean Moriarty proves himself to be a total douche.  They're left with nothing at the end.

"The Girls In Paris" is my song for going on benders. Goddamn Hazlewood's a gem.

It's weird; I hated Holden when I was the ideal age for the book, wanting to plunge his face into the icy brine of the Rockefeller Center skating rink.  Re-reading the book two years ago, I absolutely identified with him that time around, going, "Yeah, I was actually probably a lot like that at his age."
