My guess is, usually, if you really love a particular artist/band then you WANT to seek out and explore the theoretical bad stuff too, and at least relisten to it a few times to get preconceived notions out of your mind and judge it on your own preference.

It's really a distillation of "The Wall." Yes, it's thoroughly about his father (with a few tangents), but a vast majority of the songs are wonderfully sweeping….it's a lot closer to a piece of classical music (with movements, and reprises of themes and melodies throughout the album).
