Technically the $39 million was the combined amount they lost on both the Vidal biopic and his work on House of Cards (it’s clearer in the linked article than in this one), so presumably the movie only accounted for half—maybe 2/3?—of that. Still likely too much.
I saw this movie in a theater opening weekend, and literally the only thing I remember about it is the shot of Taye Diggs’ ass in the shower—and the excited response from the audience.
