It's funny that an episode with a rainy beheading, and a fucking awesome fight with a flaming sword in which a guy dies and is immediately resurrected, can feel like a slow episode.  This season is really fantastic so far.  And that Shireen-Davos scene was the sweetest goddamn thing ever.

That's fair; it felt a little like that to me also, but I'm kind of a sucker for that stuff, so I always forgive it.  As far as Parks is concerned, at least.

My favorite part was the shout-crying at the end.

Unless Tammy 2 is involved, of course.

They kinda did this in that season 2 episode with the Sweetums "nutritional" candy bars, where Leslie took Ron's keys because he'd had a few drinks and Ron got all obnoxious about it afterwards.  Not maximum drama, but I'd count it as a serious fight.

Yep, a rare dud.  The last scene with Leslie and Ron was good, Andy had a few good lines, and Jamm was more entertaining than usual.  But Leslie got hardly anything that was particularly comical, I think Ron was less funny than he's ever been, and Tom's plot was just annoying (although I did like his little look at

1- When I say "finite" in that first quote, I guess the better word would be "static."  The user-base is growing, and the money it has at its disposal is also growing.  The difference between "infinite" and "perpetually growing" seems like a small one in some situations.

I'm glad to hear that.  I too enjoy thinking about things.  :)

Okay, that was nicely clarified.  Just, when you said, "a test to see how brand-able they are and how loyal their fans are," it sounded like you were saying that these rich people are essentially gouging their fans whose loyalty to the brand is so zealous that they're basically brainwashed addicts, bound to pay up in

I understood your sarcastic implication, but: A) not everyone in the world is a member of kickstarter yet, so the amount of money that may be given by kickstarter's user-base is not finite, as your implication would suggest it is; and B) again, I doubt that many people spend the entirety of the money they're willing

Nice.

Well now, that's a pretty good reason.  Never heard about that, but that's certainly a bad thing to do.  @avclub-d7f43e1fb2d4977c86163d9b0cb07814:disqus 's link says it was dark and he didn't notice how young the kid was… which I hope is true.  Still uncool, but so is spray-painting someone's car.  Dunno how I'd react

LOL.  Was this your initial reaction when you saw the film nine years ago, when the MPDG phenomenon was still relatively new, or did you see it more recently, and form this opinion then?  Contemporary cultural context seems like it'd make a pretty big difference to your enjoyment, in terms of the tropes in a given

Is it your impression, then, that there are a ton of people out there giving the entirety of their disposable income to a single kickstarter project, such that they have not a cent left to give to any other that strikes their fancy?  I find that unlikely.

Hey, if your position is that a ton of people out there lack the mental competence to know better than to donate to Kickstarters launched by rich people, then I think you deserve a little condescension.  "You started it," as the kids say.

"… the …" is the best part.  "A squirmy Johnson" is pretty hilarious too, though.

Actually, I seem to remember having a similar experience to skirt's, with Eichnner's Jeselnik Offensive performance.  It felt pretty different from his Billy On The Street persona.  A little more like how he might actually act with his friends and such. I enjoy both versions, though.

It does, if your experience is shared by all these other folks who are tearing into this guy.

Indeed.  As if it'd be too difficult to apologize in the event that anyone's offended.  I would say "unlikely event," but who knows these days…

Just curious: is the vitriolic atmosphere here vis-a-vis Zach Braff created by every one of us having seen Garden State and hated it?  Or did only a few people do so, and the rest of us just take their word for it, and decide as a group that this guy sucks and always will suck, based on some people's feelings about a
