He was in a very nebulous emotional place after Rita's death. I don't think he could be expected to follow the code at that point, and I only wish that he had gotten to spend a little longer than just one episode in that state.

He rationalized Oscar Prado by citing his drug habits and the fact that he showed up at Freebo's place with a gun, possibly with lethal intent. Not necessarily "code" material, but certainly ballpark. He definitely should've had more of a crisis of conscience after the photographer, though. I guess he was too busy…

I was thinking for a while that Quinn might get killed off, but I didn't make the mistake of expecting it again, because he looked even more death-bound last season and still managed to survive.

Regarding LaGuerta, her investigative skills really haven't been all that impressive; she's just putting together a bunch of fairly obvious bits of information that no one else ever really cared to put together, because everyone besides her is willing to accept the Doakes-as-Butcher story. The only particularly…

Nuh-uh. Isaak was ultimately this season's Doakes But With Killin'.

First rule of the code is "Don't get caught." I've always assumed that rule would trump all others when it really came down to it.
