In light of the 2BG thing, I must ask the obvious question: why does "top pick" exist?  Seems kinda pointless if you let it force you to pick shows that you don't recommend anyone watch.

I dunno, I think early Dexter had a lot of the same flaws we complain about now — the uninteresting secondary characters, the constant voice-overs — but it just took a while for it to become clear that nothing was gonna change, which led to those things becoming more problematic.  Not that the successive seasons…

I believe I agree about the show looking better than ever before.  Not sure I'd go so far as to call it beautiful, but there have been some great shots.

Hahaha, I watched the entirety of last season and I am utterly unable to remember that kidnapping.  Sounds like something that happened, but I'm drawing a blank.  Guess that's how shitty that season was.

I tend to assume that Ghost Harry has a lot to do with repressed memories and emotions, but I'm with you that it does seem to not make sense pretty often.
