TRIPLE LAGAN!!!!!

M:I was never campy, but it did change with the times; by the 1970s, it became a police series, rather than an international espionage series.  (That's also why it was the only show from the '60s spy boom to actually last past 1970.)

The first season is incredibly different from the rest of the show.  You may or may not like the show, but the first season is not what to judge it from.

I'm pretty sure it's still the highest-rated TV broadcast in US history.  In terms of absolute viewers, it's been beaten by a few Super Bowls, but yeah, it cracked the 100 million mark.

"Brooks may have had a particular affinity for this style of story; he went on to script the film adaptations of Williams’ Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Sweet Bird Of Youth, the latter of which he also directed."

Lumet's Long Day's Journey Into Night ftw

One of his most crowd-pleasing roles is in 49th Parallel.

Lurking in the background (IMO intentionally left ambiguous) is the possibility that David Lee used Veronica to manipulate Alicia into helping the workers, thus driving down the price of the company, as a favor to ChumHum (one of the firm's biggest clients).

Back in the day, there was an Illinois Supreme Court justice who pulled that.  The local DJs made a parody of Lee Michaels' "Do You Know Who I Am?" mocking him.

I ctrl-F'ed just to see if anyone beat me to this comment.  I guess that character was closer to the real her than any of us knew.

Well, that was an out of nowhere slam on Remember WENN, which was actually a very well-scripted and acted and produced show.

And the transition into Wizards of Waverly Place continues apace.

That's pretty cool.

I haven't seen Teaching Mrs. Tingle, but there was a healthy dose of Suicide Kings in there (and practically no Rope, which incidentally does contain multiple visible, undisguised cuts).

It's cute how you show off by calling him "Sir Ian Richardson."

Mannion is clearly left of the American Republican Party.  For example, I doubt he'd ever take away nationalized healthcare.

He'll always be Ollie to me.

It's "hoist with," and re: @avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus  it's "defuses," and oh God I want to punch myself

There are no slaves in the film.  It's set during Reconstruction.
