I think if they made the Doctor a woman people would say they're fine with it, but then the character would come under tons of extra criticism and she'd be the most hated Doctor ever, even though no one would ever admit it's because she's a woman.

I think a young foppish black Doctor (which is almost certainly how they would have gone if they'd decided to make him not a white guy) would be much less of departure than Capaldi will be.
Hopefully they'll have Capaldi treat her catch-phrasey obnoxiousness with the withering contempt it deserves.
People on this site only know one black guy and one British guy and it's the same guy, so he gets suggested for a lot of parts.
I like how making an unnecessary sequel is now "continuing an original story". How can Guillermo Del Toro fully realise his vision without 4 sequels, a prequel and a toy line? You can't cut an artist off mid franchise!

Fuck this kind of comment. I'm sure you've never said something sucks or something is awesome without first prefacing that it is your opinion and you are not claiming any objective truth. Try disagreeing with someone without trying to claim some weird moral high ground.
That may be the only thing he did wrong, but the list of things he did shitty is getting pretty long.
Looking at the amount of likes Cookie Monster got for that post (quite a few), and comparing it to the amount of likes whiskeyclone got for expressing the same opinion an hour earlier (not many), it seems statistically probable that there were people who didn't agree with what Cookie Monster was saying, but liked his…

You're taking this argument hilariously seriously. You seem genuinely upset that people aren't showing enough respect for the plight of Ted. Unless you actually once got put into a coma by a bit of carpet, I don't understand what this is so personal for you (and even if…

I can sympathise with every character in Breaking Bad except Ted. I can sympathise with the drug dealers who shot the kid in season 3 (the game is the game, and Gus said no more kids). But not Ted. Ted isn't meant to be so much a person as a manifestation of all the…
You mean to say Archer retconned a character for the sake of a joke?! Monocles are being dropped across the nation.
Walter White can beat the odds, just like William Burroughs and Robert Downey Jr.
Skyler will crack like an egg under 5 minutes of questioning and tell Hank everything.
Wait, we're supposed to sympathise with Ted now? The guy was caught embezzling, given drug money to cover up his embezzlement, and decided to embezzle that too. And he thought if he acted pissy enough when Skyler asked for her drug money back she'd just let him keep it. Guy's like an alternate universe version of Walt…
Was there already a report about Mike Tyson threatening to make orphans of Todd VanDerWerff's children (I imagine their mother would die of grief) at the TCA Press Tour already? Cause I want to hear more about that.
I was tempted, in response to that weirdness, to write something like "whoa, you took a sudden left turn into crazy there" or "I think I broke him", but then I realised I'd be as bad as you.
Ugh, I hate people who use stock sarky phrases like "you're totally winging it out there". You might as well say "talk to the hand".
Concussive, concision, Kevin McFarland's clearly been making his way through the C section of the dictionary.
Fuck you, you made me think they were actually doing a Newsroom episode, but you were just making a lame joke. A Newsroom episode would be fascinating.
I remember at the season finale Todd VanDerWrong insisting the show would be much too smart to make season 3 all about Brody. Come back here and eat your words Todd! And then admit Tony dies in the Sopranos finale!
