I love how everything's a feminist issue and everyone's a sexist scumbag until you're the one being criticized. Then it's all "uggh, these women go too far!"

There was an episode of Saved by the Bell where Zach goes out with a girl in a wheelchair and overcompensates by being overprotective and making a big deal out of how everyone needs to treat her special because she's in a wheelchair till she dumps him. I think these internet "feminists" could learn a thing or two from

Do you think Roland Emmerich even knows that the kid actress with a tiny part in the 20 year old original is now a successful adult actress? That'd be like knowing exactly what your former co-workers daughter is doing 20 years on.

Ironically I'd say the people who think a riot absolutely negates the "cops can't just kill black people whenever they feel like it" movement are actually the people a riot is most likely to reach. People with no compassion often respond very strongly to fear.

I love how the AV Club's take on the story is to get up on their high horse about evil TMZ and the internet reporting a story they are also reporting.

Another thing that annoyed me about your post was when you talked about people getting "huffy" about being called a meatheaded bigot, like that's being outrageously over-sensitive.

There are a lot of meathead bigot comics, but, with the possible exception of Nick DiPaolo, none of the ones listed fall into that category.

I got more angry about his dismissal of Taylor Swift's earlier albums then the shit he was talking about Radiohead. Red is her masterpiece!

No one hosting a late night talk show can really claim not to be one of the cool kids, they're all millionaires on tv every night. But prom king comedy is a pretty good definition of the kind of stuff Fallon does. Lip sync battles, silly dances, goofy rapping, you would probably see that all at an actual prom.

People on the Av Club are so insanely sensitive to negative depiction of robots you'd think robot racism was a pressing national issue.

To be honest, if you're sensitive to Only God Forgives bashing you should probably avoid anything that has ever been written about Only God Forgives ever.

Again, tea party guy talking about manatees- not someone writing laws in congress. To clarify, I would not consider a segment on the Koch brothers to be punching down, no.

Yes, the tea party are white, Christian Americans. That doesn't make it punching up since Jon Stewart is also a white American, also funded by billionaires (Viacom). The first video that comes up on a google of "Daily show tea party" is a segment where they interview a tea party guy in Florida who's fighting against a

Whoa, you're not allowed defend your joke. People found it offensive, you should just respect that and apologize.

Punching down has become such an idiot buzzword. It's just "I didn't like this joke" wrapped up in a fake, inconsistent principle. I've never heard a complaint that Jon Stewart was punching down by making fun of the tea party, people are fine with punching down so long as they don't like the people getting punched.

"I've seen very few instances where people weren't making fun of him for it."

She only acts in the show, it's not her brainchild or anything. If you read her autobiography you'll see she does not share Leslie Knope's optimism about the role of government.

"Removing the magazine is as innately valid a communicatory act as placing the magazine in the gym is."

Maybe it's me, but for me the Star Wars prequels did not live up to the standard set by the original trilogy.

Exactly. I'm getting pretty tired of these entertainment reporters getting all self righteous and thinking they're Woodward and Bernstein when until the story went viral they didn't care either.
