This has not aged well.

Those are all fair points. Again, without knowing the voting numbers it's hard to know for sure. But Selma got pretty much universally snubbed by the committee—on both the acting and the directing end.

WHOA. I can give you The King's Speech and The Artist, but Spotlight was a great film (that, if it had come out this year, would have beat La La Land).

I actually don't think Argo would have been nominated for Best Picture.

I had those as a coin flip, but traditionally when there were five Best Picture nominees they largely matched the Best Director nominations. The fact that Selma got snubbed for almost every other nomination is what put Grand Budapest in over those other two.

When I looked at this, I looked at other major nominations and the odds and predictions at the time and attempted to balance the two. Beasts of the Southern Wild and Zero Dark Thirty both had major factions of support inside the academy. I almost left in Amour and took out Zero Dark Thirty, since Amour was nominated

The fact that Inside Out was not nominated for Best Picture is a sign the system is not working, even though the eight nominees from 2016 were the best case for the expanded field. The problem is not the number of movies nominated, it the movie preferences of those voting in the system.

For a minute, let's forget that last year they nominated eight films, and still didn't find room for Inside Out or Creed, and simply cover what movies would have been left out had there only been five nominees, year by year.

I'm positive he wrote the dialogue for the confrontation scene in the shower room, as well as "the feet thing".

Probably more over their love of cocaine

The music is this game is really something else.

TRIPP

It was to take out the inhumans in one fell swoop.

I just would rather it be another random character than Ward… again. I've seen every angle of this character and while the Hive arc was fine I really have no interest in any further exploration of the character.

Agent Resurrection Infinity

Then Ward 4.0? Yes. I was elated when they didn't redeem the character, I thought it was a brave move and I just want him to stay dead.

NOT AIDA'S BOA….SUB

That… would be excellent casting.

I kind of agree with this. They also have the perfect excuse to do it and not mess up the MCU timeline, too.

I'm so mad about this.
