There is a point in the books where he mentions needing to "discipline" Joffrey, but I never really bought that he would kill his grandson. Tywin is many things, but I never saw him as a kinslayer.

Are his meetings with Olenna from the book canon, too? That's the part that really threw me off-kilter, even though it was a fantastic scene

What I loved about Willas was that he represented Sansa's "perfect vision": marrying a chivalric lord, living in a castle, and raising children in her own dream world. Her whole inner monlogue in the books is her convincing herself to love someone she never met in order to live her dream, which is very central to her

you bet he is

A good parent never picks favorites

"Tywin rocks" is a pretty redundant statement

So, I'm wondering, how much of these Varys plots are actually in the books and how much are the writers conjuring up themselves? I'm really enjoying all of it because Varys is a phenominal character, but Im just wondering where the book and the show separate here.

I dunno. Based on my estimates, they are still 21.5 tits behind schedule

Thats a very interesting idea. Not that i really like it, but its very interesting
I still cant think of why they are moving Melisandre of Dragonstone. That whole scene puzzled me (well, not the stannis coming on the Mel part, but you know what i mean)

*Insert obligatory Hand Pun here*

I think that it's absolutely genius that they made this episode this way. This honestly was the most light-hearted episode in a while, and ending such a relatively "happy" episode than with Jaime's Dismemberment. Not only does it add shock value (along with the view of that stump), but it makes it so much more

everything about Pod made me laugh

That would be awful. Considering almost the entirety of his thoughts in ADWD were about that event, cutting it would take WAY too much away from his character

hoping that lemoncloak isn't gonna end up on the cutting room floor as well…

*slow clap*

I had that same thought. Isn't their banner supposed to be pink?

i've kinda given up on TV Cat. While the whole monologue was a nice "awww she really doesn't hate jon" kinda thing, it was waaaay out of character to me. It messes up character motivations, etc. All i can think of why is that the showrunners want to try and make Cat more relatable to the audience to justify setting

Itll be interesting to see his reek-ification process play out on screen

As someone who never really liked the Queen of Thorns (was just never very interested) Rigg's portrayal was, in my opinion, one of the better parts of the episode.

I would NOT like that. Dany needs to go on her march around Ghiscar to establish that she can be a conquerer. And if they cut that whole story line out, the next step is, as you said, her time ruling Meereen and fighting the Sons of the Harpy WAY ahead of schedule.
That means that they'll have to either put a DwD story
