Not sure I'd agree that the crescendos are gone on Valtari! They may happen more quickly but they're still there. Either way, this is a superb album. Hopefully those folks who "came aboard" with Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust will stick around and discover the majestic side of this unique band. Full review at htt

Raw, high energy, loud and simply awesome rock 'n' roll, and yet very melodic at the same time. It's like a defibrillator: it'll bring you back from the dead! http://www.kammentary.com/2…

I agree: they've mastered their formula. They've added a few touches that add a bit of new sonic depth - more percussion, more varied tempos, etc. Great songwriting. http://www.kammentary.com/2…

Wow, judging by the comments, this is either a piece of crap or a work of art. Relatively few comments in between. Makes me an exception, I guess, in that it's a good strong work, lush, gospel and soul-tinged with some very well written songs. It's certainly not the Second Coming. Hard not to reference other artists in reviews (as I know too well myself) although I wish we could take each artist and release just on its merits. Not possible after a gazillion songs have been made, I suppose. Nice review, however, and a good strong album, if lacking a bit in thematic unity. http://www.kammentary.co
