It's bad strategy. They're not going to get anything from the Republicans in return, and they're not setting some sort of precedent for the next cabinet. They're afraid to fight.

I don't know, hold the President hostage? Given Nieto's approval ratings they just let Trump keep him though.

His first interview with ABC is apparently kind of insane. He said that intelligence officials told him "torture works"—yes he used the word "torture"— and said he plans to "fight fire with fire" when it comes to ISIS. So, prepare for that.

Not just Trump, but several of his staffers are using Gmail addresses instead of .gov

Trump insists that Mexico will pay for the wall "in a form." He adds that the form may be "complicated." Paul Ryan is already on board to pony up the cash and just see what happens.

I think he's referencing the controversy of his use of "carnage" in his inaugral speech? A lot of tweets have weird grammar and pointless quotation marks, who knows.

I mean, we laugh at his inauguration crowd lies, because we have pictures
What happens when he starts lying about things without pictures?

The only way the wall gets stopped is Democrats filibuster it and hold the line. Republicans will give in entirely.

Working class people don't have time to follow the news. Have you tried keeping up with this shit with a 60 hour work week? I have, and it's exhausting— and I like paying attention to it. It would be so easy to tune out if I didn't care.

Capitulating because 'eh it could be worse' is a pretty bad start to this. Carson was going to get in on a party-line vote anyway, no real benefit to this.

Yeah, this is biggest red flag of a march toward authoritarianism. He's silencing and purging people that might speak out against him, and trying to monopolize information so his lies will be unchallenged.

I think Albuquerque has the highest per capita rates of officer involved shootings.

Wikileaks was predictably silent on it, instead retweeting stuff from Clintons email leaks, if any body cares. There's no way that level of cognitive dissonance is sustainable.

The National Guard would be my guess. "Chi-Raq" isn't going to be so hyperbolic.

And "vicious rivers"! (Note: a treaty prevents the US from walling off rivers on the Mexican border, regardless of viciousness.)

There's been so much bullshit today I almost forgot about the President tweeting threats—and he deliberately framed it as a threat—-send troops into Chicago.

And people still crossed it.

There's also Trumps ban on Federal employees talking to the press or members of Congress, a move clearly aimed at silencing any potential opposition to his coming lies.

There's a 99% chance whoever shares that also does not support front-line female soldiers.

Trump is expected to start moving on immigration, restricting/banning immigrants from several middle Eastern countries, including a complete stop on Syrian refugees. He's also planning some sort of wall-related executive order.
