I too am very confused about the reaction to this proposed show. Seems pretty obvious that this is exactly a twist on the ancient sci-fi "what if Hitler won?" motif. What if the villains won, in other words. Do those horror stories celebrate the Nazis? I guess I missed the pro-Nazi episode of Star Trek. I am guessing

The only Iroquois who would have helped him were the Oneida, who lived west of the Mohawk. The sudden switch to desert landscape was quite strange. Was it maybe just the pilot that was shot in North Carolina?

You have a point about the location thing, but Cliffy has a really good one about the format, which was a somewhat highbrow but still quite a standard one post-"Route 66." Suzanne Pleshette seems to have been kind of a regular on those shows.

Nice article, Todd, but the "no legacy" thesis is wrong, I think. There were quite a number of series in the 60s and just after that followed the format of the lead character traveling around America and getting involved in guest stars' lives, often including the social issues, taking odd jobs, and distinctive vehicle

Glad to have an article highlighting this genre, but as a fan of British folk-rock who would not go to a Renaissance Faire for money, I recommend as a gateway the earlier Fairport Convention albums: self-titled, "What We Did on Our Holidays," and "Unhalfbricking." Just scorching or haunting rock with some Celtic-folk

You want old and related to this thread? I saw the original "Bad News Bears" in the theater.

"Citizen Kane" Without a Brain
This movie has an incredible street set, though a flimsy and overlit one, and one great action scene, but the "lumpier elements" are everything else. This film is a retroactive critical darling of long standing, I had been reading about for years, and as a fan of journalism films I had

This way lies Rolling Stone
Why even bother to review this here? Does the AV Club honestly think anybody in the universe needs them to tell people whether or not they should listen to Britney Spears? Seems intended to make some point about the AV Club itself, about it not being "just" for aging overeducated hipsters
