Advent Rising was the first of a planned trilogy, with a story by Orson Scott Card I believe. Supposedly the story and score was great, but the controls were shit on toast. This was only a few years into the last generation, and it was 360 exclusive.

I lost a good six months of my life last year to Civ 5. I would come home from work, fire it up and lay in bed clicking away, building wonders and shit-talking Genghis Khan.
