She is not American, she does not need to act like an American "Feminist", she lives in a country with real attempts at gender equality, not one where it really stands for upper-class women privilege.

She is a forty year old woman, and she looks like THAT. Yep, she was got, and she still got it.
You can only implement gender equality in a country with low income inequality. In any other place, it will generate power couples and an increment in inequality (already big) since women statistically always marry up. In a society with high inequality, this means that men of lesser means will stay alone longer, and…
I told this, but watching "Borat" with a full theater was astounding. When I was working as an usher I watched "Van Wilder" in a showing full of teenagers and somebody vomited right on cue with the scene of the bad guys eating pastries (you know which one).
I go because by law almost all screens in Argentina are becoming/became digital, a ticket with a credit card discount (and they do lots of those) costs 5-6 USD for a 3D digital show any day of the week and the weekend, and local audiences are still pretty tame.
I am so happy that we did had a "truth" commission in Argentina and we even put lots of those responsible in jail forever (the main offender died in prison this year).
The memorial spots in Cambodia are a full-fledged tourist attraction. Everybody goes to the killing fields and the School in downtown Phnom Penh that was a torture/execution center. If you get bored of this, you can shoot a sheep with an RPG, or so I´m told.
I don´t know about this. The video of "We never will get back together" or something like it is nice, and it is the only song I ever heard of her.
Gaspar Noe is a very nice guy in person. Crazy, but nice.
Date movie!
How it is compared to "Pol Pot and Friends"? (new show on Fox "News").
I have a legitimate question: why all those post-apocalyptic movies are not filmed in Detroit? I mean, the scenery is already there, you don´t need to do absolutely nothing to the streets, and the city could use the money. Anybody? There must be a reason not to use an already made wasteland.
@avclub-be925cdb6f03c1b58212df4c2831aedd:disqus Thank you thank you thank you. "The Critic" is truly the best.
One is a study of a dreadful female character which fantasizes about being important to the world while viewers suspect that she is going crazy and should be put out of her misery. The other one is called "Enlightened".
The surplus population is needed to maintain the wages at a low level. Read some Marx sometime people. He was an outstanding scientist, above anything else (also, a well known fratboy and a shmuck (really Karl? Sleeping with the house aid while Jenny was sick?).
And thus after many minutes of researching, I have discovered the origin of the idea that would later became the number one movie on the Sight&Sound poll of 2022: "Sharknado". All hail to @avclub-e6de69552960e2a2af8c824b52374b0e:disqus , the Creator of Sharknado.
Quicktime? Use Youtube like rest of the Universe. Damn hipsters.
You mean like "Starship Troopers"? Yeah, I though so.
Please give Kane another try. Watch the scene and think about what you´re watching in terms of mise-en-escene, power struggles, and editing. CK is just astonishing, it still surprises me every time.
Hey, we have a Media Law in Argentina (passed in 2009) that forbids anyone from owning more than a certain number of channels, radio and newspapers. "Berlusconi" here is in the opposition.
