Ah, the ongoing battle between good and neutral.
They're going to plug him in and he'll be in control of the Galactica and fly it or jump it in a very dramatic end. I.e. so Adama lives.
Even if not democratic, the solution of having the ship's captain's having voices in the government improves the ability of all people to have their voices heard.
It was interesting to see Anders because they were showing that he was still the scientist from Earth when put on Caprica as a pyramid player. His mind moves towards physics rather than sport. I don't think the writers knew that Anders would be a Cylon when they created his backstory as a freedom fighter on Caprica.

Both Adama and Roslin die and then they are resurrected by the same facility that resurrected Starbuck.
The Daniel thing can't be a red herring with how they've developed him as an artist and musician and tied in both art (the supernova painting) and now music into Starbuck's life. They're hinting at something about what happened to Starbuck and it is blatantly leaning towards Daniel.
