I've always considered Claudia Christian the weakest of the major actors on the show, but I dunno, maybe I'm re-watching with fanboy colored glasses, but I'm really enjoying her this time around.

I had the same thought the first time I watched this… but sometimes people wanna believe so badly that they're right.  Look at the end, when he was genuinely confused that Ivanova, someone he truly admired and cared about, could possibly not agree with him.  It seemed natural to him that Sinclair would wanna join.
