This is why I agree with early-TNG Picard (at least I think he said this) that it was stupid to have children on these ships.  These are officers and crew on a tour of duty, which should mean you have a family at home and you spend significant time away from them while doing a dangerous job.  Like the military.

I don't remember any indication or implication that Tosk had anything to do with the Founders or Jem Hadar.

I also like that Quark is not directly violent, it's a nice character trait, but let's not worship the guy so quick.  He was totally happy to sell arms.  Yes that's not being violent, but it's arguably worse.  It's like the whole Eichmann thing.

Speaking of territory- it's hard for me to wrap my head around "territory" as it applies to outer space.  I mean, it's just… space.  There's no rivers or whatever, land you can draw a line through on a map.  And it's 3D.  Yeah I know we have "air space" here too but still, for some reason I always get thrown out of

While I may often slag DS9's approach to serialization when compared to a certain other space station show, the way it reveals the nature and motivations of the Dominion is a particular strong point.

If a dish isn't sold enough, yes the restaurant has to adjust.  And if an album doesn't sell, the band might have to "adjust" (whatever that means in their case).  That doesn't excuse stealing the food or the album, and if a I go into a restaurant and try to steal food, I will be arrested and no such argument you're

You are correct, there are some releases with different masterings for vinyl.  And often in those cases, the vinyl ones are better, with the (completely f'd up) mentality that spinning vinyl is "serious" so let's make it sound good, but CDs are just digitial so let's make it loud compressed and awful for the kids'

The restaurant analogy fails because after all the work and risks to create the food, individual customers are still paying for every single meal.  In the current music business, individual customers are not paying for every song or album.

While the equipment is certainly important (and there is a remarkable array of quality equipment available at any budget out there), the source is even more important.  No stereo system can make a crap sounding album sound good (if anything, it can even make the flaws more painful).

I ripped and sold my CD collection and am planning to move by the end of the year. I'm certainly glad I won't have to pack and schlep dozens of boxes.
