I saw them close out a weekend-log prog rock festival about 8 or so years ago.  Yes I really how incredibly dorky and lame that is but I had a great time and their performance was pretty great.  Simultaneously hilarious and genuinely intense.

Huh?  Klingons have essentially the same level of tech as anybody else in the Trek-verse (and in some cases more, like cloaking).  I don't see this scenario where they'd be getting their butts kicked with doctors and street punks.  They carry phasers and guns, too.

She was also supposed to be what was later called "control" and transfered to Thalia Winters after the actress threw a diva fit and quit the show.

"freaked out"- I use strong terminology.  I appreciate your discussion.

You the guy the freaked out over my comparing B5 favorably to Buffy?
I stand by it, strongly.

Re: the militaristic approach, the "war is sometimes the only answer" thing- not only was that implied, it's said outright in the credits of season 3.  "The Babylon project was our last, best hope for peace- it failed.  In the year of the Shadow War, it became something greater- our last best hope for victory."

No monoculture- remember the warrior caste?  IIRC there was a scene or two where warriors were mocking that whole "everything is spiritual" thing about the religious caste.

Rocky is my favorite movie of all time.  I am an absolute sucker for sports movies and especially boxing stories, with all the cliches- the grizzled mentors, the "evil" opponent, the training montages, etc.

SPOILER SPOILER, natch.

Truth is a river.. isn't that something he was telling his cultish followers?  If so, I think it was kind of intended to be bad.  G'Kar was never comfortable with having "followers"- he was actually a bad cult leader / religious figure.  I love that about him.  I mean- he thought he could teach someone something by

Man I don't even know which one that is, and I fully expected to be the biggest B5 nerd in the house.

This is one of the most valid criticisms of the pilot, IMO, because it's character based.
