I would probably do the same thing to (though I would also give Midnight an A because I would take the fact that it's essentially a second pilot into consideration and judge it on that basis but that's just my bag).

Ok then I think you'll like it.  The deep backstory and the G'Kar / Londo thing are generally the biggest draws, but the fact that you noticed and appreciated the end of Infection (elsewhere here I've argued that this part makes the episode not-worthless) means the character development should prove rewarding.

The best part of that scene for me is that they're driving through a tunnel.

I like David Warner fine.
(You know for a supposedly low-rent Trek ripoff they managed to get a surprisingly good bunch of a cool guest stars).

Well JMS did say that even before O'Hare left he was starting to realize it would be ridiculous to have one guy lead the fight in two wars against the Shadows in different epochs.

All of the telepaths had that kind of hair, though.

When Byron dies.
Yeah yeah, it's a spoiler, but you looked like you really needed that one.

There are some people, including JMS, who have suggested In the Beginning as a good place to start but I'm with you- no way.  First of all because it's so SPOILERY, but also I just don't think any of the movies come close to the best episodes, and ItB is going to be enjoyable to fans.

But what about Midnight On the Firing Line?  If you really hated that than perhaps B5 is not for you.

Oh man, Lord Refa, forgot about that dude.  One of the most punchable faces on TV ever.
