Good point.
My favorite unbelievably warrior chick is Alicia Silverstone in that Batman movie, which was so bad (I think that's the one with Governor Ice To See You) that most people didn't even notice her hilariously absurd fighting, with her cute little fists of bat-fury.

Andrea Thompson- I don't remember the specific moment you're referencing but overall yeah I think she was way better than Tallman.  Still not on the level of Katsulas/Jurassic/Furlan, but better.

My favorite female sci-fi character of all time.  In this genre it's so tough to pull off the strong-but-vulnerable thing.  I also like that she's not some warrior bad-ass.  Nothing wrong with those, but it's become the lazy way to do "strong woman."

Interesting to compare B5 to WoT, because B5 from day 1 set out to avoid the exact problem WoT ran into- making sure the damn thing ENDS.  It was supposed to be 5 years, it took 5 years, the end.  Story complete.  WoT just went ON and ON and they kept marching around forest and *sniffing* or whatever and then the

Oh man I forgot about the poison patch.
I think the explanation is we were seeing Lyta's interpretation of Kosh's memory, so it wasn't literally a handshake and a piece of poison clay or whatever.
I know… awkward bit of story telling there.  Still it's a detail.  What I meant is that the story works dramatically, and in

If you have already decided you want to watch this show, just watch the pilot and all of them in order.  It's no worse than the first two seasons of TNG.  Better, even.  Everyone's making it like it's a Crime Against Art, when in fact it's just a new show that hasn't ironed out all its kinks yet.  You know- like any

Infection has lovely bit about Sinclair's death wish between him and Garibaldi, showing important insight into their relationship (which has crucial undertones to everything that happens between Garibaldi and Sheridan throughout the rest of the show).

Certainly I agree with you Bale about Boxleitner, a point I've made and will be repeated ad nauseum.  I like him as much as Patrick Stewart.  (Shatner is still and will always be King of Fake Space in my book).

Bagna caude would be served, of course.

So who here managed to get others into B5?
I got my little sister into it, and she in turn got two folks in.  I moved back home for a year a while back when I was down on my luck and whipped out the B5 DVDs.  Gave her a big warning about how it starts weak and it gets better.  Funny thing is she thought it was fine,
