Bar none?  Isn't this the album with a 9 minute song about a blow job represented by a guitar solo?

Yeah Killers does suffer a bit from the sophomore slump thing, but that's to be expected.  Still… my god, Wrathchild, that song is just so much ownage.  And it never sounded quite right with Bruce.

lol @ Trooper Believer.   tx

In the world of Trek, the highest ethical philosophy would be that even aliens have more in common than not.

Nice story.
Impressed how you remember the dialogue in such detail, as well.

The terrible character of Rom is not worthy of your excellent analysis.

I think that the conservatively minded politicians and voters feel that while liberals and moderates might have some role to play in drafting legislation, the responsibility of managing an executive office is inherently a conservative one.  After all, it is an appeal to authority that inherently defines the

There is free, easy to use software out there like Audacity that allows you to edit tracks, so if there is a good song with a terrible skit or chunks of filler space you can just chop it up so that it fits a playlist.

The best thing about DS9 as the series progresses as that individual episodes end up feeling consequential.  The problem with these two episodes, and most of season 1, is that they are so inconsequential.  Knowing what's coming up, it would be a chore to sit through some nonsense about Vash, of all people.

The good thing about that the change in her personality is that it can be ret-conned as such: when she first takes the position on DS9, the symbiot is somewhat new, so she's erring on the side of "Dax"- being staid and calm.  Then as time passes she's able to be comfortable in her own skin and be more Jadzia like.

Another way to see the nominated shorts is to check out your cable company's OnDemand program.  Last year my company (Cablevision) offered the animated and live-action nominated shorts as one viewing program for the price of a regular movie.

Richie Havens' first album is a gem, and his performance of Just Like A Woman is my favorite Dylan cover of all time.

Patrice was like a great band- you have to see them live to fully enjoy them.
New York snobbery alert: first time I even heard of the guy was during a set at the Comedy Cellar and he's this huge dude who stumbles on the stage and starts blurting out some nonsense about Michael Jackson and I go from "wtf" to gut-busting

Im absolutely a sucker for the whole Just a Regular Guy thing that O'Brien brings to the table.  It makes the heroic, brilliant things he does have a lot more resonance than when larger-than-life characters do it.

Well "prog" is one of those things there is no definition for because it's not even a real genre or style.  When Yes/Crim/etc were making their music they weren't like "hey, we're a prog band."

Liking Crimson doesn't mean one likes Yes, just because they're both "prog" (a stupid artificial sub-genre).  Yes in its prime was about epic, grand, sweeping music, like symphonies and golden-era Hollywood soundtracks and BIG gorgeous sounds.  Crimson is more noisy, deeper and darker, harsher.  Yes is inviting,

I remember seeing some video, a concert video on VHS probably, about the Union tour and it shows them setting up and talking about it all.  That whole era was documented pretty well.

Man I thought I was a big Yes fan but I never even heard of that.

re: punk bands being short-lived vs prog bands still touring
I think it's a reflection of the core differences between the two attitudes: prog rockers and many of the so-called "dinosaurs" may have begun as amateur musicians but they quickly too seriously the idea of being a professional, working musician.  This means

I'm surprised at all the love, or at least tolerance, Keikio's subplot is getting here.  It's about a bored wife making a school, in our space show.  WTF, how can this not suck?
