seriously awesome news
congrats to you both. This place is now awesome for yet another reason.

it has been a long while since I saw AI and like Tristiac, I've rallied for it's ending numerous times here. There is something deeply troubling and disturbing wrapped up in the "icky" sentimentality of the ending. In my eyes it was the brilliant ending to a movie that will always polarize folks.

Jack Black made that sketch. But Leonard is right. Odenkirk as the milk machine cracks me up EVERY DAMN TIME. It's one of the finniest bits i've ever seen.

Now I'm coming full circle and defending this movie.

Shutter island was fun but Gee-hosephat did it have a truckload of problems. I really enjoyed the final reveal, what the fellow above called the 'very end' but there were some moments in there along the way which were real groaners.

I'll play. You should check out Funeral and Series of Sneaks. Excellent albums both.

they had to CGI each grain of sand. As I understand it, there was a lot of sand.

same here. We were gonna duck out of the heat and catch a movie but just went to a bar and watched the Blackhawks instead.

yes and yes. my favorite horror films, the Shining, Jaws, TCMassacre (the Hooper one) and Silence of the lambs (if you consider that horror, which i do since it is thoughtfully horrifying) all have ascending tension that newer films bypass altogether. TCM in particular has a surprisingly small amount of actual

Not sure why Johns was included. Granted, I only know him via Green lantern and the JSA, but I've enjoyed those two series very much. I tend to avoid the big events so maybe the dismemberment you reference is in those?

seconded. This has been the first place i turned to for analysis after i finally caught up to the show 'in real time' at the end of S5. Appreciate your thoughts, Noel.

@Jacob Have I loved— that's a pretty damn good point. It's easy to forget since the finale spent so much time in purgatory but there was a good v evil saving the world thing going on back at the island.

and he gave me LOST's first "oh Shit!" moment in a long time. When he popped Widmore I couldn't help but yell that out. It was also the moment that single-handedly reassured me that the finale will be awesome. It felt like LOST getting it's feet back after being beaten down in the last few rounds of a 6 rd boxing

many of the more calculating characters seem to have failsafes. Or preferred methods of getting what they want. Misdirections and whatever. Maybe Smokey did want Desmond dead but when he found out Sayid balked adapted his plan accordingly.

Just giving him the chance to play a human being again (in alt-world) has made me happy.

except that I would disagree on the first point. LOST is just inconsistent with the pay-offs. There have been a few times where they knocked it out of the park. "We Have to Go Back, Kate" and bearded jack were awesome. Charlie's Death.

you take that BACK raging bear!
