It's depressing watching movies from 10-15 years ago and seeing all the same actors and none of the same actresses. Unless you're Angelica Houston or Maryl Streep or one of the other few exceptions to the rule, the shelf life for Hollywood actresses is very short. I mean, Winoda Ryder is now playing a withered crone

I loved this movie as a kid
You know, I watched this when I was 10 or 11 and followed the plot perfectly. In fact, I basically remembered the whole alternative universe/alternative evolution/trans-dimensional portal thing correctly up until today. I think sometimes that kids are better able to follow convoluted

Best line?
"Peep this playa"
"Don't do that"
"Okay"

Why oh why
is this not available through iTunes?

Oh how can this not miss, am I right?
I bet they give him an actual bazooka and turn it into a gritty war film.

I just want to go on record for those who stumble across this old review:
I love this movie.

Two strikes
Wow. Very Bad Things and Ravenous are two of my all-time favorite movies. My friends and I used to rent them all the time — and still do on occasion… We're nice, normal people. This review makes me feel like a sociopath for enjoying a good black comedy. Clearly my taste's and the reviewer's are on two very

Suggestion
Actually… How comes the AV Club doesn't have a regular letters to the editor section? Or even featured comments section?

Actually, I read this item as meaning that America would get access to BCC programming on Hulu just as Britian would get access to American programming, should the deal go through, of course.

Blackie can't be Smokey because Smokie showed Ben the vision of his daughter — and Blackie/Not-Locke didn't know about it.

The best conciet of the show
are those fake commercials for the company. Loved the dogs tearing apart a small animal to illustrate "teamwork" on last night's ep.

I blame the cheesy name for dooming this funny show
I'm pretty sure a blog on this show would have garnered more than a few comments a week; quite a few of my friends really enjoy it. Personally, I only saw one other episode before last night's — the drugged-up Veronica episode — but after yesterday's program I was

Props to ZMF?
So is it true that you give props to Zodiac Motherfucker in your book?

Yes, about 20 years ago.

@Pis4P: No it wasn't just you. It was also everyone who turned on their TV between 9 and 9:30.

@Iorne My parents also called in the middle of the cartoon lineup. They must have some sort of radar for when you're in the middle of a TV show you enjoy.

FG Rant
I find it really off-putting when Family Guy uses too much live footage. The clip from the Hills OR the late-night montage might have been okay (notice that Letterman won't touch FG with a 10-foot pole) but both were too much. It's like that intolerable Conway Twitty clip a few weeks back. Was funny the first

All of them.

Bad but not all bad
There probably really is something to having children re-contextualize a scary event into something safe and familiar, such as coloring pictures in a coloring book. But I also agree that trying to cram all possible traumas into a single book is a bad idea, because it will probably spark anxiety

At least Lutz is no longer brain damaged…
