I was freaking out about missing some of Breaking Bad for the JT/Nsync performance, so I had the VMAs on on a TV in another room of the house with the volume turned up while watching Breaking Bad and following VMA twitter updates. Thankfully the VMA performance came on just as Breaking Bad was going off.

I'm a born and raised Detroiter, who moved out of state about four years ago, but my family (mom/dad, aunts/uncles, etc…) all still live there or in the suburbs, so I REALLY REALLY want this show to work, but it's so boring and melodramatic. Also, as much as I love Lennie James and Mark Strong the accents are setting

So when was the last time they even talked? It's been a season or two, right? Anything besides Sam yelling at her for not working. Of course, no one in Bon Temps actually holds a real job anyway.

You lucky lucky person.

What's happening with Ackles? He deserves better than Seasons 6-now of Supernatural have given him.

What do we want? Pancakes!

I totally do. I never knew they were an organization, just thought it was some saying from the 90s or 80s when college kids were fighting against rapes on college campuses. As a college grad of the 2000s, I never saw the group on campus or anywhere personally.

I didn't realize it was an actual organization. Just thought it was a somewhat popular saying for women's groups on college campuses. Of course, I went to college and never once saw this organization.

Personally, I don't care who has the night. I just like to keep the day.

Pharell produced almost all of this, so that's part of the reason. And as much as I love JT, sometimes I can't tell the difference between him or Robin Thicke. Bruno Mars also markets in the same sound.

I agree. I was all over "Suit and Tie" when it first came out, now I always hit skip when I'm playing this album. The song sounds out of place on the album and seems like JT was trying too hard to make it work with Jay-Z. Jay-Z also tries too hard to make it work with JT on the new Magna Carta album, but I digress.

This is more early 80s, end of disco-era sounding. Vintage Michael Jackson "Off the Wall". I'm guessing this is one of the Pharell-produced tracks. It's definitely not Suit & Tie, but it that song didn't quite fit with "The 20/20 Experience" anyway, whereas this one definitely does (as far as Vol. 1 is concerned). In

Seriously, any thought of a Penny and Dave pairing completely turned me off as a viewer.. it was too Friendsy… too "now let's see what happens if Rachel and Joey hook-up!"

Oh… someone should go check up on her, and bring the authorities.

Pope is just as annoying as the Mason clan.

Spoiler….

I liked… and now I'm going to comment about how much I like this comment.  I've done my duty, now do yours, America!

I'm a bit bias, I work at a newspaper, so I always identified with that element of The Wire. It's also the reason why I hate The Newsroom so much. The Wire was pretty freaking accurate about what it's like in a (mid-2000s, because so much has changed even in that short time) newspaper newsroom.
Aaron Sorkin's newsroom

Honestly, I'm just waiting for someone to do a decent series focusing on a newspaper. The Wire came close in that last season, but you could never run out of stories doing a series following the people whose job it is to consistently deliver stories every day.

It was definitely for real, no ambiguity to it. For that time period, no straight person would ever pretend to be gay. Being gay was listed as a mental problem and you could've been locked away for it. People back then weren't just in the closet because society rejected homosexuals, there were plenty of safety reasons
