RHCP wore dresses because they did a lot of heroin.

Wait… because Davis may have been abused as a kid, that means it's OK for his music to suck? Having a fucked-up past doesn't absolve you from legitimate criticism about your terrible band.
Anyone remember when Victory Records used to be nothing but tough-guy straight-edge hardcore bands? What the hell happened? I went to their website the other day, out of nostalgia for Strife et al, and I was disgusted.
Tool is still awesome live.
I found an old mix CD a few months ago that a friend had given me around '98-99 and gave it a listen… it was all typical kind of skate punk stuff, and then, out of nowhere, "Break Stuff." Hilarious.
"Yield" was the point where I stopped loving Pearl Jam the way I did through the first four albums. I've dutifully purchased every album they've put out since then, but none of 'em have had the same impact on me as Ten, Vs., Vitalogy and (to a slightly lesser extent) No Code.
"The Shape of Punk to Come" is one of the best records by anyone ever.
To tie ska into the overall topic, the singer of my ska band at the time (late 90s) was into Limp Bizkit. He wore a backwards baseball cap all the time (even with a three-piece suit) and would throw lyrics from "Nookie" and whatever else into random songs, to the point where the "Nookie" bit became an accepted (and…
Helmet kicks ass, but I would never consider them nu-metal. I was listening to Helmet at the same time as I was listening to Soundgarden and Nirvana.
When grunge started to decline, I sort of took a break from heavy, loud music and just started listening to reggae, hip-hop and free jazz for about 10 years.
I can't believe those Durst ages. That's ridiculous, and kind of pathetic.
Also, going to see Audioslave because I figured I would never have the opportunity to see either Soundgarden or RATM in my town (both were broken up at that point) and being traumatized by hearing two teenagers in Audioslave shirts sitting in front of me talking about how they didn't recognize fucking "Rusty Cage" or…
My young people don't know shit moment came when watching the "Live! Tonight! Sold Out!" video a few years ago with a bunch of friends my own age and older (so at that point we were all about 25-29). We were getting all nostalgic and whatnot, and then another friend who was watching with us (and was probably about 20…
Yeah, seriously. Tom Green has nothing to do with any of this crap.
Weren't some of the guys in Len somehow involved with Hip Club Groove?
I felt sorry for Method Man when he appeared on that song (and in the ridiculous video).
Pretty much anything with an "-emo" suffix is horrible. I mean, nu metal is horrible, but that screamo shit is even beyond that.
This is not related to LCD, but I'm at work and my browser is too shit-old to let me start a new topic (it just doesn't work). This one's title is "shows," so I'm putting it here:
I saw a Tony Jaa movie in the theatre once and everyone aside from me was Asian and appeared to speak no English whatsoever, as evidenced by the excrutiatingly long time it took the kid at concessions to figure out their popcorn orders.
I had the opposite reaction to that USA-Algeria goal. It was a shared moment of "goddamnit, the fucking Americans just scored. This is such bullshit."
