I didn't watch this (because I don't get HBO…I'll have to download the series at some point), but I heard that during the actual Winter Classic game, the commentators were explaining common-sense things about the game/talking down to American viewers as if they were mentally retarded.

That third period was absolutely horrifying.

"Ex-step sister"?

Someone please use that drawing as an album cover.

Yeah, that does sound like it would be pretty cool.

I prefer rappers from parallel universes.

There are way too many bands like that nowadays. It seems like kids come up with a name, make a website, get all kinds of fancy promo photos and logo/t-shirt designs and THEN decide to write songs/learn how to play instruments.

They have a special issue: 100 Greatest Players of All-Time (by position). I don't necessarily agree with all of the rankings either, but it's worth a read.

Whatever it was, it actually DISTRACTED from the game. Everyone I know (myself included) went immediately back to CBC after about two minutes of that colour-streak nonsense.

Hockey is only a niche sport in the US.

You have to think in terms of percentages.

According to the Hockey News, Terry Sawchuk is the best goalie of all time. Roy is #2.

Terry Sawchuk and Billy Mosienko are from my home town. And Jonathan Toews, if you want to be current.

Remember those coloured streaks FOX put on the pucks back in the day because Americans were too stupid to figure out the difference between a pass and a shot?

I would just like to mention that I am a lifelong hockey fan from Canada and I have always loved the Hartford Whalers. I refuse to acknowledge the Carolina Hurricane as anything other than a stolen team that should either be returned home to Hartford or be banned from hockey forever.

"I Go Blind" was a 54-40 cover.

BLIND MELON IS NOT A ONE-HIT WONDER

Holy shit, that's amazing.

I'm sorry, but Waterfalls is awesome.

I'd rather spend $1.99 in an actual record store. I'm not really the ordering-online type. If I wanted to save the two bucks, I could have just downloaded it for free.
