I own the "Apollo Kids" 12" single, and I'd say I listen to the accapella version as often as the actual song itself.

America is fucking crazy.

This is so ridiculous. Political correctness ruins everything.

SorUm.

How soon is now?

Boogadaboogadaboogada is an influential record in general.

Don Gately: thank you for the sarcasm, but here's the truth:

Yeah, the inclusion of the SNL performance on Telephantasm is just weird. It's really sloppy, and not in a good way. Baffling.

The Watchmen were another one of those bands from Winnipeg that were pretty unavoidable here in the 90s.

Yeah, that 90s COC stuff had some really great high points. I loved "Albatross" at the time.

"State of Love and Trust" IS, however, on the far superior remixed version of "Ten."

She probably isn't dead.

The teacher should have just given him a random question to test whether he was cheating or not.

I hope so.

I will admit to owning the first Collective Soul album, but nothing after that. They had some song on their second album named after a month (November? December? One of those) that was a huge hit, but for whatever reason, I absolutely HATED it, and never bothered with any of their subsequent material.

Are you sure that's not just klezmer?

"Evil Empire" was huge among my friends when it came out. Everybody was listening to Rage Against the Machine. I was in a vaguely grunge-y band at the time, and the singer quit and became a rapper, seemingly overnight (although he still raps, so obviously it was a good choice).

While I agree the presence of Grohl would have made "Bleach" even better, it's still a really good album. "Negative Creep," for example, is one of my all-time favourite Nirvana songs.

I don't think anyone is implying that Live was a grunge band…just that they were popular around the same time period (early/mid-90s).

Fuck the Arcade Fire.
