I'm not sure… because I think Donald Trump as President was just the sort of thing to cause people to wake the fuck up.

Sure. And don't forget Gus's little visits to Hector in the nursing home.

From my recollection, Walt basically felt small and demeaned because Gretchen's family was sort of stereotypical "happy rich family." Like that scene in the Aviator where DiCaprio's Hughes goes off on the Hepburns for the money they have. Walt felt like they were condescending him, or felt inferior, and just bailed.

Yeah, exactly. Exactly. It feels like a wound that was just created a few weeks(?) ago, and now these bastards come around and pour salt in.

Yeah…

Your summary is somewhat dishonest. The RAND experiment found that people who were comparable to the average person in need of health insurance - poor, sick - were harmed by the lack of insurance on average.

Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill…

I saw this movie while I was still in junior high, knowing absolutely nothing about it beforehand. I only knew that the commercials for it looked interesting, but told me basically nothing. Going into it at that age, in that context, it also blew my mind. I found it exhilarating. I don't think many action movies can

That said, this is a person that didn't even answer the question that was asked of him to the person that replied to him. He simply restated his original point in a few less words in a non-sequitur manner. So I guess what I'm saying is, let's not expect miracles here.

Well, except it wouldn't REALLY be okay if the President of the United States was having a torrid love affair with a foreign prime minister who is intent on disassembling our democratic government, regularly has people murdered for holding state secrets just so they won't be leaked, has political rivals charged for

"I don't have a high opinion of therapy, at least for me, but talking to myself (at home) helps. I find that I can "debate with myself" and recognize my disordered thinking. I can't bullshit myself."

I don't know your situation specifically, but I'd suggest talk therapy over something like hypnosis (and perhaps over the herbal supplement you're taking). You might consider looking into health insurance, if you have it (especially if you're under 26 and on your parent's insurance) and see if mental health services

As someone who's incurred considerable student loan debt, both private and federal, and currently in a PhD program (though thankfully they're paying me to be here THIS time), I can sympathize with the worry about debt.

I think he wanted to puff up his method cred as a strong dramatic actor and show his versatility to combat his "pretty boy" image. This was also around the same time he did Lars and the Real Girl, if I recall correctly.

I don't think they forget it, necessarily. They understand it's not politically correct to advertise racism explicitly, so while advertising the flag of an unabashedly racist sect of society, they "bury the lede" with friendlier buzz words, all the while knowing exactly what the war was about.

The fact that the writers don't WANT to strike, and maybe are leaking memos and registering for the strike, doesn't mean that they won't actually strike if their demands aren't met, though. They obviously have striked before, and I don't feel like there's any reason to believe they won't do so again if they feel they

Also, Hathaway's character is really the one that kind of finds the planet and starts the real work… and, as you said, Murphy is the real hero of the film.

Agreed. I have really high hopes for this. The first one was fantastic, and the "She just told everyone your deepest, darkest secret… you must be so embarrassed. Do me, do me" line from the first trailer basically sold me. It's nice to see in this clip that there will also be a) consistently high quality music with

I'm glad that someone else here on the AV Club is familiar with that record, like I am. I always really enjoyed Sam Cooke, but a lot of his recorded material was really quaint-sounding and radio-friendly, even for its time. When I finally heard the Harlem album, and most especially the soul-opening, bone-chilling,

Absolutely. That album is AMAZING.
