I don't really agree. I'm also not even sure I know what SOMEWHAT of a "violent sociopathic maniac" is. That doesn't sound like the sort of phrase with degrees, or runs on a spectrum. It seems a bit like the sort of exaggerated phrase you'd say to someone who is clearly either a violent, sociopathic maniac, or not.

At times like these, I recall the quote from Christian Bale's magician character from The Prestige (as directed by the guy who made the Batman movies that were actually quite good)… when his character orchestrates a prank that makes his rival look like a fool. He says to the audience, "And go easy on the poor chap… he

You schooled him with your poorly executed, grammatically incorrect post.

I think that comes from being requested to supply examples, though. I didn't have an example handy from the very first episode of the season, so I used the most readily available example I could think of which happens a few episodes later.

That's fair enough, but also (as you likely know) a subject experience. I mean, at least the part where you like him and that you're guessing he gets work due to talent. I'd argue there are actors out there that get roles who aren't very good acting - some of them not always "handsome" as well.

Ah, thank you

That was really, really annoying to me. The DA sits there and allows him to give a monologue to the jury, without a question in sight?

It sounds almost like a "partner-track" type of situation, where he's being hired with the idea that he could become a partner if he performs well, etc., but not given it outright. But maybe that's just my thinking because that's how "tenure-track" positions work.

I agree that they probablyyyy shouldn't have gotten so deep into the Black Sky/Hand stuff. They could have had this season and the mini-arcs, and probably tied the stories together by exposing the Blacksmith as someone that ties these gangs together, etc. And not really shown the Hand and all the ninjas so much, but

Something something boogaloo.

Otherwise he's just really, really terrible with women.

Also, what is "UST"?

Unfortunately, I think I'd have to really go through the series for good examples. I don't usually love paraphrasing examples of bad dialog, since it defeats the purpose of suggesting it's bad dialog when I don't quote it verbatim, if you get my meaning.

Ah I see. I think you're meant to assume it when, as another poster mentions, you hear Stick and an ally refer to Elektra as an "it" in a flashback. The flashback occurs when Nobu tells Elektra she's the Black Sky. Cue the flashback, and the colleague of Stick wants to kill her because she's an "it" and dangerous,

I do get that, I do. I just don't think it
a) Makes him more compelling, really, that it becomes less subtext, and more TEXT with the way he acts it;
b) Makes any sense when you see other characters, particularly Vanessa, but also many of his business partners in season 1, and the prison guards etc. in this season,

To be a bit more clear with my original point, I do think the acting from her can be pretty good when she's in scenes with other good actors and when events call for her brand of emoting. I think she did the scene when she saw the horror Frank caused in the diner really well, for instance. It made sense she felt

I agree that he's better here. I think it was also part of the brief excitement of seeing him, too, pop up. It may not be entirely unexpected, but at least I felt they kept his involvement under wraps relatively well. His grandstanding and outburst with Matt in the prison was pretty well done. I also found the

Not to be rude, but haven't you asked that 2-3 times now? Stick knows she's Black Sky. That was made very clear in the show.

Yeah, her enthusiasm, and her accent…

Sorry, I believe you're mistaken.
