I disagree. I was really glad Dexter didn't try to have a philosophical conversation with Mr. Bullman. You really wanted that? I didn't think anyone was aching for more of that. In fact, I think Dexter acting like a genuine sociopath who needed the kill benefitted the season dramatically - he was shown to be someone

I'm not really saying that the police procedure shown in this show is ever entirely accurate… but what do you mean, exactly, that a Miranda violation can't get someone out of jail? If a suspect is not Mirandized but is interrogated and gives a voluntary confession (with no other evidence available to tie him to this

@avclub-d0cf409eb912cc0cc950b41b6d892d07:disqus I considered Brody telling Nazzir "no" too. But what's the worst Nazzir could do? He could decide, "Okay, he isn't working for me anymore. But I can make it public that he was working for me, and was an operative for me and I managed to get an operative into the Senate

"Dexter’s speech about how his victims deserved what they got was reminiscent of John Doe’s speech in Seven."

That's the second movie. Not the first one.

Absolutely on the pandering part. The movies I gravitated toward as a kid tended to be the darker and more mature ones, and sometimes beyond my age range, because it made me feel smarter and more mature to understand those things. The first Turtles movie isn't the most adult movie out there, but it is a kid's movie

YES! The first movie is a classic. Amen man. Amen! I watch it every year or so. Unironically, etc. It's a classic.

I revisited the first movie they released. The live action one. I don't regret it at all. I think that movie was dark enough (despite its absurd premise) and had some quality, still. The image of Raphael getting hit into a garbage can and flipping out because he was called a "freak" always interested me… similarly,

@avclub-734ffb84cfa214922893511fae356b45:disqus Just because you don't like Nirvana personally means that everyone else only likes them because he's dead? You surely know what an idiotic statement that is, but are just choosing to be a contrarian.

I think the reason Richard says that is to make the viewer question what friend Richard has left after Jimmy's death. I won't argue it's possible Gillian asked for Manny to be killed, but that would be really odd, story-wise. Gillian hasn't been involved in that aspect of Jimmy's affairs too much, and for her to call
