He's turning into the old Alaric, an angry drunk who hates vampires.

For a penultimate episode, I thought it was incredibly slow and I was expecting more. Kai should have done his worst halfway through rather than the end of the hour. There were some really nice moments though. Elena and Alaric's talk about what it meant being human again was special. Elena should have told Damon the

MORE POSSIBLE SPOILERS: I've heard that rumor too for a few weeks. I hadn't heard about the 60 years thing though. Plus, I read if they wake Elena up beforehand it means Bonnie will die since Kai ties them together.

Well to give him a little credit, she made it out of the Salvatore basement pretty easily.

It ended with a musical number. It was definitely a finale.

Tyler was her closest ally and she did nothing for him, so why would she give up the reward for Rodney?

I would put Jenn as a Cersei/Dany mix and Shirin as Sansa.

He always had Vic!

It's really impressive who they've been able to bring in. Tim Meadows especially was perfect in this episode.

Excellent episode all around with a wide variety of humor, but my favorite parts (other than Mike and Gary being left behind in Tehran) were Gary offering Leon deodorant and Jonah telling Amy about Leon's "terrible" mother.

I wonder if we'll even see Sarah again. Damon has to learn the truth about her, doesn't he? If Damon takes the cure, he can't give it up or it will kill him. I don't think that Damon is the kind of guy that would give himself up to death for someone else…except Elena and Stefan.

Caroline should at least be asked, but I also really hope she doesn't take it. Stefan describing the pain he feels as he's about to lose control was pretty vivid. He's been able to gain control off and on, but he is the Ripper of Monterrey after all. That risk will always be there no matter what. All the reasons why

Caroline has said before that she doesn't want the cure and her life is better off as it is. Ironically, no one except Klaus asked her that time around if she would take it. Maybe she changed her mind and they should make the rounds to anyone who would like it. Stefan in my mind should have been the one to be asked if

The established mythology was that once a witch is turned into a vampire, they can't practice magic at all any longer. These creatures basically are a new wrinkle in the established mythology who can siphon magic and are vampires.

Bonnie did leave a voicemail for Jeremy actually. It was that memorable.

Yup, like @olivececile:disqus notes, they actually brought it up and said her mom was happy as she is.

I can't agree with you about this season being as good as Season 3 at all, but I'm glad someone is enjoying it that much. It is true that it has happened, starting a story line early, but it still seems awkward this time around. Klaus and Katherine were all about their mystery and the build up was huge. The others?

If we don't see their faces, they could just cast actors over the summer.

Damon's snarky line about Enzo being a brother from another mother was great.

I was holding out hope for Leith, but now? Nope. Greer (in a gorgeous black gown) has made her choice. Stick to it Greer!
