Actually, that would be very much in line with their usual MO. Their reviewers love nothing more than tearing into widely loved bands, especially if they were involved in said bands' rise. I actually wasn't aware that they were hyping the record that hard (or that they had promoted it on their Twitter feed), but…

but Pitchfork got it right, and on all counts. The interference of her public persona, the half-assed sound and half-developed ideas, the shallowness posing as depth…why is this being reviewed by an AV Club third-stringer?
